Navigate in Three Dimensions
- Zoom through maps that show increasing levels of
detail
- Move smoothly in any direction with the 360 degree
Traveling Tool. Just move the cursor to the edge of the screen
and it turns into an arrow. Press the right mouse button and
additional map in that direction is displayed.
- Borders between maps have been removed for continuos
uninterrupted movement between maps.
Search
Search for places by name, feature type, or latitude
& longitude, then jump to that location on the map. Find new trails,
parks, summits, canyons, campgrounds, streams, and waterfalls. TOPO!'s
search engine helps you quickly locate any feature labeled on the maps.
GPS users can jump directly to any coordinate.

Visualize elevation gain with instant elevation
profiling
TOPO!'s instant elevation profiling is the fastest and
easiest way to visualize elevation change along a route. Simply trace a
line anywhere, and TOPO! generates a profile showing all the ups and
downs. Now you can get a true sense of the terrain before heading out.

profile and identify the corresponding location on the map

displays true overland distance (includes ups and downs)

displays total gain, loss, and grade

Customizing, Printing & GPS
- Customize the maps with TOPO!'s extensive collection
of Map Symbols, add your own text, and your own routes all in your
choice of color.
- Print sharp, clear, legible maps in color or black
and white. Select the exact area you want to print,
even if it is smaller or larger than the screen or covers multiple
USGS Maps.
- Export maps to the internet and other applications.
- Measure precise distances and directions using the
ruler and compass tools.
- Determine the exact latitude, longitude, and
elevation of any point on the map, ideal for GPS users.
- Add TOPO!GPS USA (sold separately) and:
- Connect your GPS receiver to your Laptop running
a TOPO! Region and constantly display your current position.
Watch the TOPO! map on your laptop screen move automatically as
you do.
- Trace out the route you want to take on TOPO! and
then upload the route to your GPS receiver. Print out a
custom topographic map of your route to take along too.
- Download waypoints from your GPS Receiver and
display them on TOPO!'s maps.
